The Oak Folk - Matte Painting

No one really knows anything about this bunch. Their acorn slanted houses are said to sporadically appear in the late of night, usually in the spring. All that can be seen is the strange magical lights that softly vapor out from their large glowing windows. Though many have attempted to approach these hanging villages, all eyewitnesses have reported that the houses mysteriously vanish as the spectator draws close.

My first attempt at a matte painting for my compositing class. It could use a lot more work, I know. But I am decently happy with it. It was a lot of fun Composited from 5 oak photos I took at Crane Creek park in Sonoma county. The acorn houses were hand painted in Photoshop.
